Florida Organic Growers is a Gainesville based non-profit agency that had three separate identities or
sub-divisions: FOG, NNN and QCS. FOG concerns itself with all things organic and is a mobilizing force for addressing
policies and issues among local organic farmers. NNN is a well meaning community based nutrition improvement/empowerment
project. And QCS is the main bread winner. Farmers pay it to certify the 'organic' level of their farms. Yup, the organic stuff you pick
up from your grocery store (do you?) has to be certified in keeping with guidelines that are set by the organic industry. Here are their
